TESTED on PS3 Rebug CFW only (don't know if it works on OFW) PSP ISO at (This pkg being the best setting to use, to me)** of Persona 2 using great photos, good compression & MINIS2 setting. # **I've made a very nice looking PSP Remaster var. I hear it’s a lot better, but I was so letdown with IS, I just couldn’t see myself dipping back in for another 30+ hours.# **Look at Important Info before downloading this PSP PKG** After I wrapped the ending, I walked away choosing to never touch its sequel P2 EP. Some neat ideas like the rumor system are novel, but also marred by not feeling you have all the information available to coordinate decision-making. It’s thankfully easy to the point you can ignore much of the nonsense mechanics, but that leads to excessive tedium and disdain for every fight you come across. It slows the pacing down at every step with constant fussing over placement and skill use, beyond the sluggish combat.

The rather simple tarot and negotiation systems in P1 were unfortunately expanded to practically absurd lengths that made much of the design feel like trial and error with uncanny number of options to consider without rhyme or reason. It has a strong bittersweet payoff ending too. Lots of wacky humor, moreso than it’s rather morbid front puts on. The story and characters are strong though. On the flip side I -loathed- my time playing P2: Innocent Sin. Not a must play by any stretch, but if curious it’s certainly approachable. It’s a simple dungeon crawl with SMT trappings. Not without plenty of faults, but I didn’t dislike the 20-ish hours it took to finish the game. The characters and story are stronger in P2, but the gameplay was much more accessible. People who bought Eternal Punishment at retail back in the day got the game and a bonus CD that contained some extras, I think a developer's interview and maybe some viewable artwork? I don't remember all that great anymore (despite still owning a copy of the game myself) but I liked the little "anime" promo reel that was also included:

Completing both routes gives you access to an epilogue dungeon where you can fight a brand new boss and allows you to form a party with both routes' secret characters together.

NovumVeritas, did you complete both routes in EP? It only changes the game slightly (one different dungeon, different dialogue and boss in the ruins) and obviously, a different 5th party member to mess with before Tatsuya joins. I can only imagine the PSP version was given the IS treatment and made easier. And this time summoning new personae was necessary to survive at various points. And then that gimmick boss where you have to outpace its healing factor by doing more damage per turn to kill it. And as stated previously, the PSP version made the game even easier.Įternal Punishment assumes you were somewhat familiar with IS gameplay so it starts to rachet up much quicker, I remember the Undersea Ruins being a big pain in the ass, especially the boss. Innocent Sin on PS1 was interesting and a fair challenge, though it was possible to go through the whole game with just your starter Personas and their upgraded forms (provided you answered certain plot questions correctly throughout the game) thanks to random stat increases via spamming fusion spells (called "mutations" in EP). It's nice to read a positive P2 thread for a change.
